Wedgwood Fairyland Lustre China Values

The value of any piece of Wedgwood fairyland lustre should just be evaluated on a case by case basis.  Some pieces are simply more popular than others.  We have some information below that will give you the basics on how to value your piece.  Please send us digital photos of your exact piece if you need a more accurate value.

Extremely Valuable Fairyland Vase

Rare Fairyland Vase

Value of $10,000+
This price point for Wedgwood fairyland lustre will be difficult to reach.  Only 10% of anything produced has the chance to be this valuable.  In order to be worth $10,000 or more the piece should be large.  The wide Malfrey pots can be worth this much money.  Tall vases with lids can also sell for $10,000 or more.  The pattern is also important at this price point.  Collectors spending five figures want something iconic.  If you have the ghostly woods scene or something especially fanciful then you might be in luck.

Value of $5,000 to $10,000:
Fairyland lustre pieces in this price range will still be difficult to locate.  I would guess that 20% of the market would fall into the $5,000 to $10,000 value range.  Expect pieces to have similar qualities to the group above.  However, they will likely be smaller and probably from a less iconic series.

Value of $1,000 to $5,000:
This is a wide price range.  At least 50% of Wedgwood fairyland lustre will fall into this value group.  These pieces are so prevalent today because they were in a comfortable price range when they were originally being sold.  If you wanted a piece of fairyland lustre you probably were not going to buy the most expensive piece in the showroom and you probably weren’t going to buy the cheapest example either.  There really is no defining characteristic of something of this value.  It could be just about anything.

$1,000 or Less:
Fortunately for sellers, very few examples of Wedgwood fairyland lustre will fall into this low price range.  This is usually reserved for lustre pieces that are not fairyland.  Anything with damage will be worth less than $1,000.  The modern authorized fairyland reproductions are also only worth a couple hundred dollars.

Other Factors:
Completeness – Collectors expect something that originally had a lid to come with a lid.  All the parts should be original and together.  If something is missing then you can expect a serious drop in value.
Condition – This should go without saying.  Any issues likes chips or cracks will significantly reduce the value of Wedgwood fairyland lustre.
